Player from Peculiar Claims $209,000 Jackpot

Dennis Clark of Peculiar said he generally plays most Missouri Lottery Draw Games, but he had never won more than $50 or so. That changed when Clark was checking his tickets and realized that he had won a $209,000 Show Me Cash jackpot by matching all five numbers drawn in the Oct. 13, 2018, drawing.

Clark said his method of playing draw games is a simple one — he buys a ticket or two here and there, stores them up and checks them all at one time. While recently checking tickets at a grocery store, the Check-A-Ticket machine displayed a message Clark had not seen before.

“I thought maybe there was something wrong with the machine,” he said. “I knew something was up when I got that message on the self-checker.”

The machine was in perfect working order, however, and was directing Clark to claim his Show Me Cash jackpot at a Missouri Lottery office, which he did on Jan. 25. The winning ticket was purchased at Freeman Country Market, 27500 S. State Route C in Cass County, with the winning number combination of 23, 26, 31, 37 and 39.

Clark said he intends to invest the majority of the $209,000 jackpot.

Show Me Cash is a daily Draw Game with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until won. Clark’s winning ticket marked the 36th Show Me Cash jackpot won in 2018 and the 529th since sales for the Draw Game began in 2008.
