$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold in Eureka

Story Photo

Did someone spontaneously decide to add a Powerball ticket to their gas or snack purchase? Or could it have been a routine visit for a Missouri Lottery player trying their luck on a national jackpot game? Whatever the case, a customer at QuikTrip, 290 E. Fourth St. in Eureka, has won a $1 million Powerball prize after matching all five white-ball numbers drawn in the May 11 drawing. The winning number combination was 6, 8, 9, 37 and 40.

“If you’re the lucky player holding the million-dollar ticket from Saturday’s drawing, be sure to sign the back of it right away, and keep it in a safe place until you’re ready to claim your prize,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery.

The win marks the 54th time a Missouri Lottery player has won a $1 million Powerball “Match 5” prize since 2012.

Draw Game winners have exactly 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. In this case, the winner has until Nov. 7.  Prizes can be claimed at any of the Lottery’s four offices, which are located in St. Louis, Jefferson City, Kansas City and Springfield.

The estimated jackpot for this Wednesday’s Powerball drawing is $250 million.
