Congratulations to “Team Bankroll,” a group of Lottery-playing co-workers from Springfield. The team has been recognized as the November Lottery Team of the Month, earning the group a prize package and a feature at Molottery.com.
Deriving their name from the banking industry in which they work, “Team Bankroll” is led by team captain April Lindley of Springfield. She said the team was formed in January of 2009 with “dreams of winning the big jackpot!” Other “bank rollers” include: Jessie Tindall, Tami Schnurbusch and Brenda Snider, all of Springfield; and Karen Favor of Sparta.
Each member of “Team Bankroll” contributes $5 each pay day to the collection pool, purchasing Powerball tickets for both the Wednesday and Saturday night drawings.
“We each have our own numbers we play each draw,” offered Lindley, referring to Powerball’s option of selecting five white-ball numbers between 1 and 59 and a Powerball number between 1 and 39. Players may also select Quick Pick to allow the computer to randomly generate a set of numbers for them.
While each member has her own individual set of numbers, there is a unified financial plan in terms of what they will do if “Team Bankroll” hits a large jackpot prize.
“We all agreed on taking the cash option, splitting it five ways,” Lindley said.
“We all have our own plans,” she continued, explaining how such a windfall would be spent. “Some would retire; others would just work with more vacation days!”
Summing up her team’s philosophy, Lindley said, “Just play – even if you don’t win, it’s still fun to play and think of the day when you might just hit the jackpot.”
Each month, the Missouri Lottery recognizes a players group as part of the 2009 Lottery Captains promotion. To tell us about your team, go to the Lottery Captains Page at Molottery.com. To learn more about Powerball, visit the Lottery’s Powerball page.
