When Michael Longinette of Cottleville stopped by a convenience store to pick up some supplies for a Halloween party, he didn’t realize a rich treat was about to be dropped into his goodie bag. While at the store, he cashed in a few Scratchers® tickets that he had won a few dollars on and purchased a “Holiday Cash” Scratchers ticket. The ticket turned out to be worth the top prize of $25,000.
Longinette, 21, purchased his winning ticket at Huck’s Food Store, 3500 Patterson Rd. in Florissant, on Oct. 31. He hasn’t told anyone in his family except for his sister, but she’s not a believer.
“Yeah, she doesn’t believe I won. I even sent her a picture of the ticket with my phone, and she still isn’t buying it,” confided Longinette.
Perhaps seeing a $25,000 check will convince her. Longinette, a store clerk, plans to invest his winnings.
“”Holiday Cash" is a $2 ticket that offers a top prize of $25,000.
