Judy Moghadam of Centerview has 100,000 extra reasons to be thankful this holiday season. The 64-year-old uncovered a top prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket, a feat which earned the retiree $100,000.
“I like to buy tickets when I’m grocery shopping,” Moghadam said, noting she bought a winning “Black Pearls” game at Country Market, 410 E. Young Ave, in Warrensburg.
The prize money “will make every day easier” for the mother-of-four and grandmother-of-two.
“When I told my 7-year-old grandson that I won the Lottery, the first thing he did was ask for $500,” said Moghadam over laughter, adding that she plans to make his holiday request a reality and then some.
“It’s going to be a good Christmas,” Moghadam beamed, explaining that she intends to use the windfall to help out her family.
“I just thank God,” she concluded. “This is a blessing; a real miracle.”
“Black Pearls” is a $5 game with a top prize of $100,000.
