Camdenton Woman Wins Lottery, Lands New Job on Same Day
A stroke of Missouri Lottery luck is allowing a Camdenton woman to kiss her credit card debt “goodbye.” Deborah Morgan, 53, uncovered a $10,000 prize on Jan. 19, and amazingly, her financial good fortune wasn’t even the high-point of her day.
“Before I won, I found out that I got a new job as a phlebotomist that I’ve been hoping for,” Morgan explained. “Then, I won the Lottery. It was a pretty good Saturday!”
The mother-of-two and grandmother-of-nine was in the parking lot of Jiffy Stop, 641 W. Highway 54 in Camdenton, when she scratched off her “$1,000,000 Classic Cash” ticket.
“I said, ‘No way!’” she recalled. “I went back into the store to ask a clerk to check for me.”
In addition to paying off debt, Morgan intends to shop for a newer vehicle.
“This is so great,” she beamed. “It will really loosen up some money and make things easier.”
“$1,000,000 Classic Cash
” is a $10 game with a top prize of $1 million. To date, all four top prizes, as well as thousands of prizes ranging from $10 to $100,000, remain in play.
