While some might cringe at the thought of leaving their 20s, one St. Peters man welcomed his 30th birthday earlier this month with open arms and pockets. David Caito Jr. used Quick Pick to match all six Missouri Lotto numbers drawn on Feb. 16, earning him a $2.2 million prize just three days after turning 30.
Caito reminisced that his birthday weekend couldn’t have gone better after celebrating with his entire family on Saturday and then realizing he was a newfound millionaire on Monday.
The business development manager intends to use his windfall to pay off debts, including a student loan, and invest in business opportunities.
“I’ve already got a couple of things that I was interested in doing with a good friend,” Caito explained.
The budding entrepreneur already has “a detailed plan” about how to use his winnings, but he joked that he’s “still kind of in shock” about everything falling into place.
“This is all I need to be able to achieve what I want to do,” he shared, adding that the prize will provide some financial stress relief.
The first-time Lottery winner said the winnings will enable him to “focus on the more important things in life,” like spending time with his family, friends and helping others.
“Before this all happened, I’d been praying to God,” he beamed, noting that he feels as if his prayers were answered.
Caito bought his winning Lotto ticket at Aro-Mart, 3755 Harvester Road, in St. Peters. Aro-Mart received a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The winning numbers were: 1, 8, 27, 36, 37 and 40.
Lotto is a $1 per play Draw Game with a minimum jackpot of $1 million. Drawings occur on Wednesday and Saturday at 8:59 p.m. Caito is the 360th Missouri Lottery-made millionaire and the 217th Missouri Lotto winner.
