For a man that spends eight hours a day dealing poker, the Missouri Lottery provides all the excitement he needs off the clock. Danny Stewart of St. Charles claims that Show Me Cash is his favorite game, asserting that devotion while claiming an $180,000 Show Me Cash jackpot from the March 18 drawing.

“Every day,” he stated. “Show Me Cash. I think the chances of winning are better. I’m 68 years old, and I don’t know what I’d do with $260 million, at my age. I’ll take $180,000, and that’s a beautiful thing.”

Stewart bought the winning ticket at St. Charles Motomart, 1020 S. Fifth St. in St. Charles, where he also buys Mega Millions and Lotto tickets regularly. Motomart received a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Stewart is a dealer at Ameristar Casino, and he said he rarely leaves the Old St. Charles area. The windfall may help him with regular visits to see his friends in Florida or grandchildren in California, but the biggest purchase would be upgrades to his home.

“I’ve got a new bathroom and a new kitchen coming,” he declared. “It’s awesome. I can just do it sooner, as opposed to later, now.”

Stewart said he discovered the win after calling the Missouri Lottery’s winning numbers hotline, which is 314-340-5805, in St. Louis.

“I tell you, I’d had a few toddies, and I checked my numbers,” recalled Stewart. “I called the hotline to get the numbers, and then I called it about 20 times to make sure it was correct.”

He used Quick Pick to select the winning numbers, which were: 1, 10, 12, 16 and 28.

“Years ago, when it first came out, I had my own numbers,” explained Stewart. “But I got away from them, because if you miss a week, then you get mad. You can get Quick Picks anywhere, so it’s just easier for me to get Quick Picks. I’ve already bought tickets today.”
