A Missouri Lottery player was shocked to discover the crumbled Powerball ticket in his pocket matched four out of five white-ball numbers along with the Powerball number on July 14 to win a $50,000 prize. The winning ticket was purchased at Walmart Supercenter, 1201 Grindstone Parkway, in Columbia.

“I had purchased it after work and stuck it in my pants pocket,” the winner explained. “When I found it a few days later and checked the numbers, I couldn’t believe it!”

The winning numbers on July 14 were 8, 12, 45, 46 and 63 with a Powerball number of 24. The winner claimed his prize at Lottery Headquarters in Jefferson City on July 21.

Powerball is a multistate Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. Saturday’s estimated jackpot is $350 Million.

In FY24, players in Boone County won more than $23.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $2.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $53.2 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
