A Missouri Lottery player uncovered a $100,000 top prize on a “Triple Cash Crossword” ticket purchased at Huck’s, 353 S. Kingshighway St., in Cape Girardeau.
  
“The Crosswords are my favorite because they take time to play,” the winner shared.
 
With just a few letters left to check, he had already matched several words so he knew he had won a prize. In a game that provides bigger prizes for the more words scratched and match, he knew to keep his eye on the word count.

“The “G” gave me a couple more words,” he exclaimed. “I knew if I got 10 words, I would win $100,000!” 

 His wife came home as he was finishing counting the completed words, and he quickly shared the news with her. 

“I told my wife, ‘Honey, sit down. Look at the bottom! Count the completed words!’” he said.

So far, players of the “Triple Cash Crossword” game have won more than $9 million in prizes. Over $8.1 million in prizes remain unclaimed, including three additional $100,000 prizes and two $30,000 prizes. 

In FY24, players in Cape Girardeau County won more than $13.3 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.1 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $7.9 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
