After uncovering a $50,000 Scratchers prize on a “500X” ticket, a Missouri Lottery player knew exactly how he wanted to tell his girlfriend. 

He purchased the ticket at QuikTrip, 1802 W. Ashley Road in Boonville, and had yet to finish scratching off the entire ticket when he realized he was going to win something big.

“So I took the ticket home to my girlfriend and had her scratch it off,” he said. “She was pretty excited!” 

The player added his win was all down to luck.    

“I’ve played this game before but this one just happened to be the lucky one I bought!” he said.  

In total, “500X” players have won over $189.4 million, with $68.1 million remaining in unclaimed prizes in the game – including a top prize of $5 million and 13 additional $50,000 prizes. 

Players who purchased tickets in Cooper County last fiscal year won more than $2.9 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $304,000 in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $679,000 in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
