While in town to meet friends for dinner, a Missouri Lottery player made a quick stop to purchase a “Holiday Ice” Scratchers ticket at Wallis Petroleum, 1197 Highway Z, in Wentzville. He had no idea a $50,000 prize awaited him on the other side of his meal.
“Later that night, I was scratching the ticket and uncovered the sleigh ‘WIN’ symbol and won $5,000. I was caught completely off guard!” he began. “Then I matched another number for another $5,000.”
“I told my wife, ‘I think I just won $10,000!’” the winner added, having been happy with the outcome.
However, he wasn’t finished counting up his prizes just yet.
“I turned the ticket over to start scratching the back and won another $40,000!” he excitedly shared.
“Holiday Ice” was the first of this year’s holiday Scratchers tickets to be released. Since the $20 game became available, players have won more than $3.9 million in prizes. Over $20.8 million in prizes remain unclaimed – including two top prizes of $300,000 and three additional $50,000 prizes.
Through Jan. 7, players can enter holiday-themed Scratchers or eligible Draw Games tickets into their My Lottery® Players Club accounts for a chance to win one of three “Second Chance of a Lifetime: Holiday Adventure” Yuletide Travel trips valued at $40,000 or one of 30 Jolly Jingle cash prizes of $1,000 – awarded through three separate drawing dates. Weekly prizes valued at $300 are also randomly drawn throughout the promotion.
In FY24, players in St. Charles County won more than $68.2 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $6.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $16.5 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
