A Missouri Lottery player in Clay County won the first $3 million top prize on a “$3 Million Supreme” Scratchers ticket he purchased at Price Chopper, 500 N.E. Barry Road, in Kansas City.
“I scratched the ticket before heading home,” the winner shared. “I knew I won, but the whole drive home I had a strange feeling something wasn’t right with that ticket.”
Once he got home, he took a closer look and realized he didn’t win $3,000 like he first thought; he had won $3 million!
“I called my son and asked him if he was sitting down,” he laughed. “I’m pretty sure he fell out of his chair when I told him I won and I am finally retiring!”
“$3 Million Supreme” players have won over $12.2 million since the $30 game was released in October. Over $97.3 million in unclaimed prizes remain, including two additional $3 million prizes and three $100,000 prizes.
In FY24, players in Clay County won more than $29.6 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $3.1 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $10.1 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
