A Missouri Lottery player had time to kill before meeting a friend, so he purchased a “$5,000,000 Fortune” ticket and settled in to scratch it off. Minutes later, he realized the ticket he was holding was a winning ticket – and it was worth $50,000.
He purchased the ticket at Kum & Go, 1700 E. Valley Water Mill, in Springfield.
The winner said he plans to keep his good news to himself, but he may plan a vacation somewhere warm this winter.
“$5,000,000 Fortune” is a $50 Scratchers game. Players have won more than $66.3 million since the ticket was released in late May, with more than $186.1 million in prizes yet to be claimed – including two $5 million top prizes, three $1 million prizes and an additional 29 prizes of $50,000.
Currently, players can enter their eligible $30 and $50 Scratchers tickets into their My Lottery® Players Club accounts for a chance to win $500 cash in the next monthly “Scratch Big, Win Big!” drawing.
In FY24, players in Greene County won more than $49.4 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $4.3 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $19.1 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
