A Missouri Lottery player was unaware he had won a $50,000 Powerball prize until several days after the March 1 drawing. The Quick Pick ticket he purchased at Town & Country Supermarket, 616 N. Main in Ironton, matched four of the five white-ball numbers and the Powerball number drawn.
“It was about a week later that I checked my tickets and found out I won,” the winner said, sharing how one of the tickets he scanned resulted in a “Claim at the Lottery office” message.
“I was very surprised!” he said. “I’ve never won anything like this before!”
The winning numbers in the March 1 drawing were 2, 23, 36, 44 and 49 with a Powerball number of 25.
Powerball is a multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. Saturday’s estimated jackpot is $444 million
