A lucky visitor to Missouri won the first of 10 $50,000 top prizes on a “Crossword Plus” Scratchers ticket she purchased at Trex Mart, 10043 Highway 71, in Clearmont.
“I like to play the crossword, bingo and treasure hunt games when I visit family in Missouri,” the winner shared, noting it took a more than a moment for the win to sink in.
“I checked the ticket three or four times! I couldn’t believe it!” she exclaimed. “I called my sister and sent her a picture, so she could check it also!”
Players have won more than $885,000 in prizes since the $3 “Crossword Plus” game was released on Sept. 11. Over $14.8 million in prizes remain unclaimed, including nine additional $50,000 prizes and 31 $5,000 prizes.
In FY24, players in Nodaway County won more than $1.5 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $167,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $4.2 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
