While stopping at Casey’s, 7907 N. Oak Trafficway in Kansas City, a Missouri Lottery player purchased one of her favorite Scratchers games – a $20 “$2,000,000 Extreme Cash” ticket.
This time, however, she revealed a $2 million top prize as she scratched off the ticket’s play area.
“When I saw all the zeros, I thought, ‘That can’t be right,’ so I scanned the ticket. Then I scanned it again!” the winner laughed. “Then I scanned it on my phone to just make sure!”
Next, she made a phone call to her daughter.
“She called me and had me do a four-way conference call with my brothers,” her daughter explained. “Once we were all on the phone, she told us we had won!”
Together, the four winners claimed the prize at the Lottery’s Kansas City office on March 24.
In FY24, players in Clay County won more than $29.6 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $3.1 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $10.1 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
