A Missouri Lottery player won $100,000 when she stopped for gas at Brooks Street 66, 426 Brooks St., in Jefferson City. After filling up, she decided to go inside to grab a drink, and that’s when she spotted the “24K Gold” Scratchers ticket.
After scratching the ticket at the store, she scanned the barcode to double-check she had really won.
“I couldn’t believe it! I quickly put it under my coat!” she laughed.
The winner and her fiancé claimed her prize at Lottery Headquarters in Jefferson City on April 8.
To date, “24K Gold” players have won more than $38.5 million playing the $20 game. Over $12.3 million in prizes are still unclaimed – including a top prize of $2 million and two additional $100,000 prizes.
In FY24, players in Cole County won more than $14.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $7.1 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
