A Powerball player purchased a ticket from Alta Convenience, 859 Meramec Station Road in Valley Park, that matched all five white-ball numbers drawn for the Jan. 28 drawing to win a $1 million prize.
The winning numbers for Jan. 28 were 2, 18, 23, 27 and 47. The Powerball number was 15.
This is the third $1 million “Match 5” Powerball prize won in Missouri so far this year. All three were won as the Powerball jackpot approached and exceeded $500 million in January before being won at $747 million by a player in the state of Washington. There were five such $1 million winners in Missouri in 2022.
In the last fiscal year, Missouri Lottery players won more than $205.1 million from tickets purchased in St. Louis County. The county’s retailers earned more than $19.5 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $39 million in Lottery funds went to educational programs in the county.
