A stop for a drink after work resulted in a $1 million win for a Missouri Lottery Scratchers player at Weber’s Front Row, 3930 Vogel Road, in Arnold.
“My son and I stopped in after work to grab a beer,” the winner shared. “I bought three “$1,000,000 Cash Payout” Scratchers tickets. I contemplated buying the third one, but that was the winner!”
That last ticket held one of the game’s top prizes - $1 million.
“I scratched the barcode at the bottom and went over to the (Check-A-Ticket) machine, checked it, and didn’t believe it, so I took it over to the bar and had them scan it.
“They said, ‘Yep, you won a million dollars!’ and told me to sign the ticket and go home,” he laughed.
In FY23, players in Jefferson County won more than $40.2 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received over $4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $4.7 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
