A lucky chain of events led a Missouri Lottery player to win a $100,000 top prize on a “Smokin’ Hot Cash” Scratchers ticket he had won as part of a prize package from a local business. The winning ticket was originally purchased at Barrell Blends, 12133 St. Charles Rock Road, in Bridgeton.
“There was a lot of ‘right time, right place’ that took place for me to win,” he explained.
After scratching the ticket, he asked a friend to take a second look to make sure he was reading it correctly.
“I had my buddy to look at it and he said, ‘You just won $100,000!’” the winner shared.
“Smokin’ Hot Cash” players have won more than $6.5 million in prizes since the $5 game was released in September. Currently, there are more than $10 million in unclaimed prizes remaining, including three additional $100,000 top prizes.
In FY24, players in St. Louis County won more than $200.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $19.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $161.2 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
