A stop at Circle K, 408 S. Highway 185 in Sullivan, turned into a $100,000 Scratchers prize for a lucky Missouri Lottery player when he purchased a “$2,000,000 Sizzling Riches” ticket.
“I play that ticket all the time,” the player said.
Once he began scratching it off, he knew he had a winner on his hands.
“I saw the $5,000 prize first, so I knew I had won something,” he said. “Then it just kept getting bigger!”
He went on to say his wife did not believe him at first.
“She thought I was joking!” he said.
The winner shared plans to use the money for their Christmas shopping.
“It will help out for Christmas, for sure!” he added.
“$2,000,000 Sizzling Riches” is a $20 Scratchers game, in which players have already won over $18.1 million. Over $32.7 million remain in unclaimed prizes, including three more prizes of $100,000 and one top prize of $2 million.
In FY23, players in Franklin County won more than $31.4 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $2.1 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $5.7 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
