The morning after the July 31 Show Me Cash drawing, a Missouri Lottery player was checking the winning numbers when he realized his ticket matched the numbers drawn.
“I didn’t know what to do,” he said. “I can’t believe I won!”
The ticket he purchased at Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh, 2130 E. Sunshine in Springfield, matched all five numbers drawn – 4, 31, 32, 33 and 36 – to win the night’s $141,000 jackpot prize. When those around him realized he had won something, they instantly wanted to know how much.
“They were all like, ‘How much was it?” he said. “My heart was pounding out of my chest!”
He tried to call his wife, but she didn’t pick up right away – forcing him to wait until he got home to tell her the news.
“But I did get to see the look on her face when I told her,” he shared. “Her eyes just kept getting bigger and bigger!”
Show Me Cash is drawn daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until won. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $108,000.
Players who purchased tickets in Greene County in FY23 won more than $50 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $4.5 million in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $27.6 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
