A Missouri Lottery player found it hard to contain his excitement when he discovered he won a $3 million top prize on the “$3,000,000 Spectacular” Scratchers ticket he purchased at 7-Eleven, 9866 Manchester Road, in St. Louis.
“I screamed, probably said some expletives,” the winner laughed.
To double-check his win, he went back to the clerk to have him scan the ticket. Overwhelmed by the enormity of the moment, he cut in front of another customer in line – though he would soon make up for it.
“I actually won $500 on a $50 ticket as well, and I gave the guy I got in front of $200 and the clerk $200,” he shared.
The winner plans to use his prize money to retire and help put his children through college.
“$3,000,000 Spectacular” is a $30 Scratchers game. Currently, players can enter their eligible $30 and $50 Scratchers tickets into their My Lottery® Players Club accounts for a chance to win $500 cash in the next monthly “Scratch Big, Win Big!” drawing.
In FY23, players in St. Louis County won more than $207.7 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, while retailers received more than $20 million. Education programs in St. Louis County received more than $76 million.
