While driving around town, a Missouri Lottery player decided to drop by Prime Time, 901 N.E. Colbern in Lee’s Summit, to pick up a Lotto ticket for the Sept. 11 drawing.
“I always stop by random places to buy tickets,” the winner explained.
His decision to purchase a Quick Pick ticket that day would turn out to be a huge win when the numbers on his ticket matched all six of the Lotto numbers drawn.
“I was just in shock and I almost hit the floor,” he said. “It didn’t even feel real until I came in and they took the ticket and told me that I won.”
Even though the surprise is still wearing off, he already knows what he’s going to do with the money.
“I’m going to get a realtor, and I’m going to buy a house,” he said. “I’ve wanted to buy a house for years and this gives me the chance to do that.”
The winning numbers for the Sept. 11 Lotto drawing were 3, 5, 16, 22, 37 and 44.
Lotto is an in-state Draw Game, with drawings held every Wednesday and Saturday evening at 8:59 p.m. This Saturday’s Lotto jackpot is estimated at $1.2 million.
Players who purchased tickets in Jackson in FY24 won more than $109.8 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $9.8 million in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $22 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
