$50,000 Double Play Powerball Prize Won in Carl Junction

Mar. 12, 2025

A Powerball ticket purchased at Pump N Pete’s, 102 N. Main St. in Carl Junction, led to a $50,000 win for a Missouri Lottery player when he added the Double Play option to his ticket for the March 1 drawing.

“I knew I won something, because the screen showed ‘Claim your prize at a Missouri Lottery office,’” the winner chuckled. “I just didn’t know how much until I was at the Springfield Lottery office.”

Adding the Double Play feature allows Powerball players to play the same numbers in an additional second drawing held after the main Powerball drawing. It was during this Double Play drawing that he matched four of the five white-ball numbers, plus the Powerball.

The Double Play numbers on March 1 were 6, 19, 37, 66 and 68, a Powerball number of 6.

The winner shared with Lottery officials that he plans to use some of his winnings to complete a full, frame off restoration of his classic Jeep Wrangler.

Powerball is a multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. Tonight’s estimated Jackpot is $353 million.

In FY24, players in Jasper County won more than $15 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $3.5 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
