While scrolling though social media, a post about someone winning $50,000 in the Feb. 12 Powerball drawing caught the attention of a Missouri Lottery player. According to the post, the winning ticket was sold at Pump N Pete’s, 201 E. Central Ave. in Carthage, and the winning numbers were 21, 32, 36, 45 and 49, with a Powerball number of 18.
“I knew I had purchased a ticket from there, and the Powerball number matched the number I usually play,” the winner shared. “I grabbed my ticket and checked the rest of the numbers.”
She was very happy to learn she was holding the winning ticket from the post. Not only had her ticket matched the Powerball number, but it matched four of the five white-ball numbers, too.
Powerball is a multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m.
In FY24, players in Jasper County won more than $15 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $3.5 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
