$50,000 Powerball Prize Won in St. Louis

Mar. 03, 2025

While at a local filling station, a Missouri Lottery player scanned the Powerball ticket he had previously purchased at Schnucks Market, 1589 Sierra Vista Plaza in St. Louis, for the Feb. 15 drawing. The conversation that followed would end with a $50,000 prize for matching four out of five white-ball numbers, plus the Powerball number.

“I thought I had matched four numbers and won $100,” the winner said. “When I scanned the ticket, the screen showed something about the Lottery.”

Not sure what that meant, he took the ticket to the clerk to scan.

“The clerk said, ‘I can’t cash this,’” he explained. “I was shocked when he told me I matched the Powerball and won $50,000!”

Powerball is a multi-state Draw game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m.

In FY24, players in St. Louis County won more than $200.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $19.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $161.2 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
