While checking a Powerball ticket purchased at Walmart, 3150 W. Republic Road in Springfield, a player got a message she did not expect on the Missouri Lottery mobile app.
“It said something like, ‘Go to a Missouri Lottery office,’” she said. “So I knew I won over $600.”
She immediately then went to the Missouri Lottery website to check her numbers against the numbers drawn.
“When I saw them, I was like, “That can’t be right. This isn’t right,’” she said. “I checked that ticket four times!”
Her ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers drawn, as well as the Powerball number, in the July 31 drawing to win the $50,000 prize.
“It couldn’t have come at a better time,” the winner added.
Powerball is a $2 per play multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. The winning numbers for the July 31 drawing were 2, 11, 48, 58 and 65 with a Powerball number of 13. All current and past winning numbers can be found at MOLottery.com.
