When a Missouri Lottery player stopped to grab a soda at Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh, 6500 N.W. Prairie View Road in Kansas City, the decision to also pick up a “100X The Money” Scratchers ticket had an emotional ending.
“I was running up there so I thought, ‘I’m going to buy a ticket,’ and picked out one of the $10 ones,” the winner said.
As soon as she scratched it off, she realized she had uncovered the second of five $50,000 prizes offered in the game.
“I was in tears!” she shared. “I was totally shocked.”
She shared plans to use the money to renovate part of her home.
“100X The Money” players have won more than $19.3 million in prizes since the $10 game was released. Over $15.3 million remain in unclaimed prizes, including a top prize of $1 million and three additional prizes of $50,000.
In FY23, players in Platte County won more than $15.7 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.3 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $1 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
