$50,000 Show Me Cash Winner ‘Lost Her Mind’

Mar. 07, 2025

The night before the Feb. 25 Show Me Cash drawing, a Missouri Lottery player decided to pick up a ticket at QuikTrip, 801 S.E. Highway 291, in Lee’s Summit. This choice would lead to her winning a $50,000 jackpot prize.

“It was just a Quick Pick ticket,” the winner said.

When she later checked the Show Me Cash page on the Missouri Lottery website, she noticed the jackpot had been hit the night before.

“I saw that the jackpot was back down to $50,000, but I didn’t have my ticket from that night in front of me,” she said.

The next day while waiting in line, she decided to check the ticket in her purse.

“And there it says clear as day that I was the winner!” she laughed. “I lost my mind!”

She rushed home, scaring her partner who was already home.

“I came like bounding in, and he was like, ‘What is wrong with you?’” she recalled. “And I had to tell him!”

Show Me Cash is drawn daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until won. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $388,000.

Players who purchased tickets in Jackson County in FY24 won more than $109.8 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $9.8 million in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $22 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
