A Vernon County Scratchers player couldn’t believe his eyes after uncovering a $77,777 prize in the Missouri Lottery’s “Triple Red 777” game.
“I took my glasses off and rubbed my eyes because I thought I was seeing double,” he shared.
The winner explained he had recently won a smaller prize amount on a “Triple Red 777” ticket, so he decided to purchase several more tickets at Hot Spot, 320 N. Osage Blvd., in Nevada.
“I bought one ticket on a Wednesday, and it won $77, so I went back Thursday and spent that money on seven of those tickets,” he shared.
“Triple Red 777” is a $10 Scratchers ticket released on Aug. 28. The game currently offers over $25.4 million in unclaimed prizes, including a top prize of $777,777 and four more $77,777 prizes.
In FY23, players in Vernon County won more than $3 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $310,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $397,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
