The “Ruby Red 7s” ticket a Missouri Lottery player purchased at Elm Street Wine and Spirits, 2303 Elm St. in St. Charles, turned out to be a very lucky purchase.
“The week before, I had actually won $500 on another one of the same tickets, so I thought I’d try it again,” the winner said.
She took the tickets home and scratched them a little later only to discover she had found one of the $77,777 top prizes.
“I was just pacing back and forth,” she said. “I was home alone, and I had no one to talk to about it. It was awesome!”
So far, “Ruby Red 7s” players have won over $4.2 million in prizes since the game began on Jan. 27. There are currently over $9.8 million in unclaimed prizes, including four more top prizes of $77,777.
Players who purchased tickets in St. Charles County in FY24 won more than $68.2 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $6.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $16.5 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
