While stopping for gas at QuikTrip, 1615 S. Kingshighway Blvd. in St. Louis, a Missouri Lottery player allowed the clerk to choose which Scratchers game he would buy. The “200X The Cash” ticket selected by the QT worker would soon change the customer’s life.
“I asked the clerk for any $20 ticket, and this was the one that was picked,” he explained.
He would shortly come to realize it held a $2 million prize while scratching the ticket in the store’s parking lot.
“I couldn’t believe it!” the winner said. “I looked at it at least 30 times to make sure it was real!”
The $2 million prize was later claimed at the Lottery’s St. Louis regional office on Dec. 24.
In FY24, players in the City of St. Louis won more than $45 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $4.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $36.9 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
