A Missouri Lottery crossword player in St. Louis County has her husband to thank after winning a $50,000 prize on a “Crossword Xtreme” Scratchers ticket.
“My husband plays the Lottery all the time,” she explained. “I said, ‘Hey! Get me one of those crossword tickets you’re always playing.”
The ticket he bought at MPC 12, 12188 Bellefontaine Road in St. Louis, held one of the game’s top prizes.
“When I scratched it, I didn’t believe it. So I counted the words about 100 times,” she laughed. “Then I had him count it!”
Players have won over $13.6 million in prizes playing the “Crossword Xtreme” game so far, with over $2.3 million remaining in unclaimed prizes, including one more $50,000 top prize.
In FY23, players in St. Louis County won more than $207.7 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $20 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $76 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
