A Missouri Lottery player in Pemiscot County unknowingly held on to a jackpot-winning Show Me Cash ticket after the drawing took place.
“It was two or three weeks before I found it. I normally keep up on all my tickets, but I hadn’t bought any in a week or so,” the winner explained.
“I checked my tickets after work one day, and it said ‘Claim at Lottery office,’” he added. “I’d never seen that before so I had the clerk scan my ticket. He looked at it for a few minutes and goes, ‘Man, you’re the big winner!’ I said, ‘Big winner of what?’”
He purchased the lucky Show Me Cash ticket at Car-Macs, 85 Highway O in Holland, and matched all five numbers drawn Dec. 30 – 8, 11, 18, 20 and 22 – to win the $132,000 jackpot prize.
Show Me Cash is drawn daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until won. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $70,000.
Players who purchased tickets in Pemiscot County in FY24 won more than $7.4 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $555,000 in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $105,000 in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
