While at Fitters 5th Street Pub, 500 S. Ohio St. in Sedalia, a Missouri Lottery player was trying to decide what numbers he was going to play on his 8-Spot Club Keno ticket.
“A buddy of mine was sitting next to me, so I turned to him and said, ‘Pick me a number.’ And then I played it,” he said.
As he watched the results for the drawing he played on Jan. 18 come up on the pub’s monitor, he was shocked to see all eight of his numbers match, as well as the Double Bulls-Eye.
“I turned to him and I just said, ‘Did I just see what I thought I saw?’” he recounted.
By matching those eight numbers on an 8-Spot ticket, he won a base prize of $10,000. Since he had also played the Double Bulls-Eye feature, his prize was increased to $125,000. The winnings continued to grow because Club Keno also adds an additional Progressive Jackpot prize to any top-prize wins on 6-, 7- or 8-Spot games. When totaled, his final prize amount came to $125,885.
He added that he plans to invest the money and donate some of it to charity.
Club Keno is a fast-paced Draw Game, with drawings held every four minutes. The game can be played at social environment locations such as restaurants, bars and fraternal organizations, as well as convenience stores, grocery stores and similar Missouri Lottery retail locations.
In FY23, players in Pettis County won more than $9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $888,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $2.9 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
