A Missouri Lottery player randomly picked up a “Deck the Halls” Scratchers ticket while stopping for gas at Rapid Robert’s, 1278 Highway 60 in Republic, and then walked out a $50,000 winner.
“I just picked a ticket,” he explained, “I really didn’t know which one I was going to get.”
The winner said he couldn’t believe the ticket he ended up picking held one of the game’s top prizes.
“I’ve never won anything like this before,” he added. “I was shocked I won $50,000 on a $3 ticket!”
“Deck the Halls” players have won more than $1.9 million in prizes since the game was released on Oct. 14. Over $4.5 million remain in unclaimed prizes, including two more top prizes of $50,000.
In FY24, players in Greene County won more than $49.4 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $4.3 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $19.1 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
