As he was grocery shopping at Schnucks, 45 Gravois Bluff Drive in Fenton, a Missouri Lottery player decided to pick up a “100X The Money” Scratchers ticket.
“There was two machines there, so I was deciding which one to do,” he said.
He eventually settled on getting the ticket from the second machine and went home to unload his groceries.
“I was downstairs in the basement, and I started scratching it off with my thumb actually,” he said. “When I saw the ‘100X’ come up, I stopped scratching and went upstairs to let my wife finish scratching it off.”
He originally thought it showed a $100 win.
“She goes, ‘That’s not $100,’” he said. “And then I looked at it and saw it was $1 million!”
They both had to check it several times to make sure it was real.
“My wife had to pinch herself to make sure she wasn’t dreaming,” he shared
“100X The Money” is a $10 game that offers prizes up to $1 million. So far players have won over $4.4 million on the game and over $30.3 million remain in unclaimed prizes – including one more top prize of $1 million.
