A longtime “$100 Million Cash Bonanza” Scratchers player in St. Louis County won a $100,000 prize on a ticket he decided to go in and purchase while driving by Schnucks, 15425 Manchester Road, in Ballwin.
“I’ve been playing that ticket for a while. I really like them,” he said
This time, however, he thought he would have a little added fun with his purchase.
“I usually take the tickets home to my wife and let her scratch them, but I decided to check it first before I left,” he explained.
He scratched off the ticket’s barcode, but left the play area unrevealed. He scanned it and realized he had won a $100,000 prize.
“So, I decided to trick my wife. I left it unscratched and left it for her,” he said. “She scratched it off and about broke my neck grabbing my neck and screaming so hard!”
So far, “$100 Million Cash Bonanza” players have won over $79.9 million playing the $20 game. Over $32.7 million remain in unclaimed prizes, including two top prizes of $4 million and seven additional $100,000 prizes.
In FY23, players in St. Louis County won more than $207.7 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $20 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $76 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
