A Missouri Lottery player made a quick stop for gas at Casey’s, 818 Highway 24 & 36 in Monroe City, where he had the good fortune of buying a Powerball Quick Pick ticket that would later be worth $50,000.
The ticket matched four out of five white-ball numbers plus the Powerball number in the Aug. 21 drawing to win a $50,000 prize. He is the 30th Missouri Lottery player to win $50,000 or more in a Powerball drawing so far in 2024.
He had a one sentence summary of the experience after claiming his prize at the Lottery’s St. Louis regional office. “Winner, winner, chicken dinner!” he exclaimed.
The winning numbers on Aug. 21 were 27, 31, 33, 38 and 67 with a Powerball of 3.
Powerball is a multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m.
In FY23, players in Marion County won more than $6.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $735,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $675,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
