A Missouri Lottery player uncovered a $100,000 top prize on a “Smokin’ Hot Cash” Scratchers ticket she purchased at Brumby’s Sports Stop in Eldon.

“I scratched the first spot and it was an instant win symbol,” the winner said. “I thought, ‘OK, I won $5.’”

As she continued scratching each spot, she was shocked to see additional instant-win symbols, along with several of her numbers matching the winning numbers. She then realized she hadn’t won $5 for each spot – they were each worth $5,000, for a total of $100,000!

She quickly shared the news of her win with her husband and daughter.

“I feel so blessed,” she shared. “I can help my children pay off their cars and help my dad, too.”

So far, “Smokin’ Hot Cash” players have won more than $6.7 million in prizes since the $5 game began in September. Over $9.8 million in unclaimed prizes remain, including three additional $100,000 top prizes.

In FY24, players in Miller County won more than $4 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $409,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $200,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
