A Powerball player visiting Missouri won a $50,000 prize when his ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers, plus the Powerball, in the March 27 drawing. Because he also played the Power Play option, the prize was instantly doubled to $100,000 when the Power Play number drawn was 2.
The player explained he purchased a Quick Pick ticket at Pilot Travel Center, 4500 Highway 43 in Joplin, during the recent Powerball jackpot run.
“All I've got to say is, you won't win unless you buy a ticket! If I'd just had one more number, I'd have won the big one!" he laughed.
The winning numbers on March 27 were 37, 46, 57, 60 and 66, with a Powerball number of 8.
Powerball is a $2 per play multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. Saturday’s jackpot is an estimated $46 million.
Players who purchased tickets in Newton County in FY23 won more than $6.3 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers in the county received more than $660,000 in commissions and bonuses, and education programs received more than $3.3 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
