Powerball Winner Has 'New Outlook on Life'

Jul. 26, 2023

A Powerball player in Osceola said she has a “new outlook on life” after winning a $50,000 prize.

“The good Lord must have been looking over me,” the winner shared. “It’s a blessing.”

Her ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers, plus the Powerball, in the July 15 drawing. The winning numbers were: 2, 9, 43, 55 and 57, with a Powerball of 18.

She shared she rarely plays Powerball, but she was encouraged by her daughter when the jackpot grew large. She purchased just one ticket at Casey’s General Store, 540 Truman Road, in Osceola..

“It just takes one to win!” she laughed.

She plans to pay off the mortgage on her house with her winnings.

Players who purchased tickets in St. Clair County in FY22 won more than $1.4 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers in the county received more than $144,000 in commissions and bonuses in FY22, and education programs received more than $186,000 in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
