A Missouri Lottery player was in Phillips 66, 78 1st St. in Gainesville, when she decided to purchase a Powerball ticket for the May 18 drawing.
“It was just a Quick Pick ticket,” the player shared.
Once the drawing had finished, she checked her numbers and couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Her ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers drawn, plus the Powerball number, to win a prize of $50,000.
“I was in shock! It still doesn’t feel real,” she said.
She went to her boss and quickly asked for the day off.
“I needed to go claim it!” she laughed.
The winning numbers on May 18 were 19, 36, 37, 42 and 59, with a Powerball number of 19.
Powerball is a multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. The estimated jackpot for tomorrow’s drawing is $120 million.
In FY23, players in Ozark County won more than $1.7 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $183,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $156,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
