“I’ve played the Missouri Lottery since day one,” the winner of a Show Me Cash jackpot laughed.
His ticket, purchased at Rapid Roberts, 695 Branson Landing Road in Branson, matched all five numbers drawn on May 5, resulting in a $167,000 jackpot prize. The winning numbers that night were 1, 18, 23, 31 and 39.
“I checked my ticket the next day and it said, ‘See Lottery office,’” he recalled. “So I thought, ‘Oh boy, I won something!’ Then I bought another ticket and saw the jackpot was (reset at) $50,000. I thought, ‘Man, maybe I hit it!’”
His next move was to call his wife.
“I said, ‘I think we won Show Me Cash!’ I was excited because I can help the grandkids out,” he shared.
Show Me Cash is drawn daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until won. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $126,000.
Players who purchased tickets in Taney County in FY23 won more than $11.3 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $1.1 million in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $1.7 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
