Two Missouri Lottery players in St. Peters split a $100,000 top prize in the “Power 5s” game.
“Me and my friend have played Scratchers together for about 10 years,” one of the winners shared. “We take turns picking tickets.”
One of the tickets they chose while at Walmart, 3301 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters, was a $5 “Power 5s” ticket.
He explained his friend was scratching the ticket when he realized the prizes won added up to $100,000.
“He said, “Oh man, we hit a doozy here!” he recalled. “He even started shaking. It was mind-boggling!”
They don’t have plans for how they’ll spend their winnings just yet.
“We always said, whoever hits, we’ll split it!”
In FY23, players in St. Charles County won more than $63.3 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received over $6.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $6.3 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
