A Missouri Lottery player was stunned when he discovered the “$1,000,000 Black Diamond” Scratchers ticket he purchased at Corner Market, 1780 Bagnell Dam Blvd. in Lake Ozark, held one of the game’s $50,000 prizes.
“I couldn’t believe it,” the winner shared while claiming his prize at Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City on Nov. 12, “I scratched the first spot and I won $2,500 then another $2,500!”
The more spots he scratched, the higher his prize total grew.
“This couldn’t have come at a better time,” he said. “I am starting a new business and this will really help out.”
Players of the “$1,000,000 Black Diamond” ticket have won over $21.2 million in prizes since the game was released earlier this year. Over $10.9 million in unclaimed prizes remain in the game – including a top prize of $1 million.
In FY24, players in Miller County won more than $4 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $409,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $200,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
