Soda Run Turns into $77,777 Scratchers Prize

Mar. 31, 2025

A Missouri Lottery player stopped at Smoker’s Friendly, 205 State Route B in St. James, to grab a soda when a “777 Jackpot” Scratchers ticket caught his eye. It turned out to be a lucky turn of events.

“My blood sugar was low, so I stopped in there to grab a soda and just randomly bought that ticket,” the winner said.

He scratched off the ticket right away and couldn’t believe it when he saw he had won one of the $77,777 prizes offered in the game.

“I was just in disbelief,” he said.

He added that the timing of the win was great, as he and his wife want to build a new a house.

“This will really help with that!” he said.

So far, “777 Jackpot” players have already won over $5.8 million in prizes since the game began on Feb. 24. There are currently over $28.1 million remaining in unclaimed prizes, including two top prizes of $777,777 and three additional prizes of $77,777.

Players who purchased tickets in Phelps County in FY24 won more than $8.6 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $843,000 in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $1.7 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
