A Missouri Lottery player had a personal escort when he claimed a $50,000 prize on a “500X” Scratchers ticket at Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City on Aug. 6.
The winner’s son had flown in from out-of-state after hearing the news of his dad’s win.
“Dad said, ‘If I ever win the big one, you have to come take me,’” the son shared.
The winning ticket was purchased at Schulte’s Fresh Foods, 1904 Southwest Blvd., in Jefferson City.
Players have won over $135.4 million in prizes playing the “500X” game so far, with over $122.2 million remaining in unclaimed prizes – including one top prize of $5 million and two $1 million prizes.
In FY23, players in Cole County won more than $16.2 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.5 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $5.5 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
